The Great Wall Cup of Beijing provides a completely unique Football & Cultural experience.

 

Background

 

The Great Wall Cup of Beijing is an international youth football / soccer tournament organized by Beijing Football Federation. The first tournament is in the planning stages, and will be held during July 25th-31st, 2010 at the Beijing Olympic Sports Center Football Park. This tournament will become an annul event in the future.

 

Through the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Beijing showed the world a great impression with passionate people, rich culture, great facilities, and of course more than you can have expected. With the rapid economic growth, Beijing is always full of opportunities for everyone to take a trip to visit.

 

The Great Wall Cup of Beijing is willing to give young people from all over the world an opportunity through the world most popular sports­--Football to experience China with much more than just the game itself. Playing games against teams from worldwide, attending culture events such as learn basic Chinese, Kung Fu, tour the Great Wall, the Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, will together give your team a great experience in the summer of 2010.

Who may participate

All association teams, pro-academies and football clubs, who are members of their FIFA affiliated national associations, are welcome to participate in the Great Wall Cup of Beijing.

Number of players per team: There is no limit to the number of players in each team. However, only 5 substitutes are allowed in each match. The minimum participate players of a team is 16. All players must be able to show proof of age and identity.

 

Dispensations

Dispensations will automatically be given to two players per squad who are maximum one year over aged. Note that you cannot use more than 2 over aged players from the squad by switching them between matches. In classes teams from countries that still use the 1st of August limit (mainly USA and England) may also use players 5 months over aged. Girls are NOT allowed to play in boys teams.

 

Tournament Format & Games

The tournament format is based on Pools of 3 or 4 teams in Round 1, played on a league basis, followed by progression into either the A or B Finals. Teams are divided into groups of 3 or 4 teams, so that each team plays the other teams once. The first and second team in each group qualify for “Play-off A”, the other teams in the group for “Play-off B”. The third and fourth in the group will also play against each other for ranking. All teams will play at least 4 games, and as many as 5, 6 or 7 games. The tournament is played under all applicable FIFA or China FA rules. All players must be insured, both for games and leisure time.

Number of teams in the tournament

It is our aim that all teams wishing to take part in the Great Wall Cup of Beijing should be able to do so. But as the first time we starts this tournament, we would like to make it small and make sure the quality of organization is good at this first year. There will be a maximum of 8 teams in each age group (including 2-4 local teams). The teams paying their entry fees first will be given priority. A club may enter only one team in each age group.

 

Insurance

All participants must carry their own insurance. The Great Wall Cup of Beijing does not carry any group insurance, and is not responsible for protecting participants in case of injury, illness, theft or damage to property.

 

Awards for The Great Wall Cup of Beijing, 2010

-Trophies/Cups for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams in every category;

- Medals for players of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams in every category;

- Medals for most goals scorer in every category;

- Medals for goalkeeper with fewest goals scored against in every category;

- “Fair Play” trophy for one team;

- Participation Certificate for every team member, all participants of the festival.

 

Entry & Payments

China Sports Tour is the official partner of the Great Wall Cup of Beijing which responsible for international team registration and logistics arrangements. Teams can register via email to info@chinasportstour.com or info@thegreatwallcup.com.The team fee together with the completed application form must be received no later than April 30, 2010. The accommodation fees must be paid no later than May 1, 2010.

The Tournament Includes:

-  4 games guaranteed per team, regardless of the results
