Beijing is a vibrant, energetic, exciting city full of history and culture.Shopping in Beijing is fun. You can go to the famous Commercial Streets to shop the high-end brands in large shopping complexes, or go to the Silk Market or the Peal Market to shop the special Chinese products such as silk market, pearl market, etc and enjoy the fun of bargaining. And besides shopping, there are a lot of fun places that you can visit besides sightseeing. 

Sanlitun Area
What used to be a small street with bars has turned into a wide area of all kinds of entertainment. Sanlitun continues to be popular with foreign expats and tourists alike along with a whole crowd of Chinese affluent trendy people who either come to mix with them or just to look cool and relax. Food, art exhibitions, shopping malls, bars, clubs, cinemas are all spread out in this area.
 
The Pearl Market
The Hong Qiao Pearl Market, with 30 years of history, is a large-scale market well-known both here and abroad. Over the 30 years of development, Hong Qiao Pearl Market has grown from peddlers selling their goods at the road side, to semi-closed booths erected on the street, to today’s modern building. The Silk Market
The Silk Street High-rise is tightly near CBD, the total floorage amount to 28,000 square meters, and there are 1,500 stalls in the market. Commodities mainly sold in Silk Street are shoes, bags and cases, leather, famous brand, casual wear, fashion clothing, cowboy series, sports leisure attire, knitted dress, kid's clothing, tie, silk handkerchief, silk wax printing, craft table cloth, handicraft, jewelry, antique, calligraphy and painting, Beijing roast duck and characteristic snack, etc.
 
The Yashow Market
Sanlitun Yashow Clothing Market is located in flourishing area which is between eastern 2nd ring road and 3rd ring road. The Yahshow Market concept is similar with the Silk Market, but located in different area. You will find different clothes, bags, shoes and caps, silk, pearl, souvenir and all kinds of snacks.
 
Zhongguancun Area
The Zhongguancun area is sometimes called China's Silicon Valley, because of its many universities and IT-based companies. It also has a score of really big markets, selling anything you can imagine in computers and electronics, and they are all within walking distance from each other. One market that stands out in the crowd is Zhonghai electronic market, selling used computer stuff and notebooks, which could be convenient if you prefer low prices rather than getting the latest model.
 
Shin Kong Place
Shin Kong Place is a flagship store pooling the worlds’ top products, department stores and national restaurants which opened in 2007. It has been the ideal and one-stop shopping center with its perfect and leisure shopping enjoyment, considerate and war service.
 
SOLANA Lifestyle Shopping Park

Wangfujing Shopping Area
For many years, the shopping street of Wangfujing has been the pride of Beijing. Its glass facades are perhaps not that remarkable in today's Beijing, but the selection of products ranks among the city's most exclusive and it is said that Wangfujing is Beijing's only pedestrian street. There are three large markets on this street: Sun Dong An Plaza, Beijing Department Store and The Malls at Oriental Plaza. They all sell mostly designer's clothes but you will also find jewellery, make up, wines and spirits, tea shops, cafés and a whole bunch of Chinese and Western fast food restaurants. The Malls at Oriental Plaza is known as one of the largest markets in Asia.

Panjiayuan (also known as Sunday Market)
Visiting Panjiayuan is an experience in itself - whether you actually choose to buy something or not. The market is located a couple of miles east of the Temple of Heaven. In the large courtyard, salesmen sit in rows with blankets filled with various jewellery, statuettes, vases, china, Mao-related items and more curiosities. To get the best experience, go there on weekend mornings, when the most salespeople are in position.
