The Great Wall Cup 2011 is honored to host 2 teams from Balcatta Soccer Club, West Australia to participate the age U18 and U16 boys age category.
"The 2011 Great Wall Cup in Beijing, China was an ambition created by dedicated personal within the Balcatta Soccer Club, West Australia, and the core ambition of the club is to assist young Western Australians from all backgrounds to realize their football potential and exhibit it throughout Asia and ultimately the world. Now, they are heading towards fulfilling the goal this summer in Beijing!" Said by Mr. Goran Stajic, the head coach of Balcatta Soccer Club.
The Balcatta SC was founded in the 1970`s of the last century. The club has worked and planned for many years to gain promotion in the elite level of Western Australian football and finally achieved the aspiration in 2010. It is now playing in the WA Premier League against the best teams that Western Australia has to offer. Approximately 300 hundred talented juniors aged between 10 and 18 years of age, learn football on a program that was developed and introduced by Paul Wozny the clubs Director of Football and Head Coaching Director of Burnley FC in Australasia and Asia. The Balcatta Soccer Club will participate in the 2011 Great Wall Cup Tournament U16 and U18 age group, and Edith Cowan University Faculty of Business and Law is the major sponsor of the two teams.
Mr. Goran Stajic, the U18’s head coach of Balcatta SC told us a bit more about the club from his point of view. “On a personal note, with recently completing the AFC ‘C’ License through Football West, I have been fortunate to be involved and supported by the Balcatta SC for the past two seasons and I am now aware why the Balcatta Soccer Club is recognized as one of WA’s premier soccer clubs. My coaching philosophy and primary responsibility is to make sure that my players enjoy, develop as footballers and to instill in them disipline, competiveness and passion for the game. Every player can expect an optimal learning environment with consistently superior coaching, training facilities, equipment and uniforms. Parents and guardians acknowledge that the Balcatta SC consistently demonstrates its leadership in providing player programs that are easy to understand and accessible. The volunteer roles are organized, well conceived and supported by clear timely communication. Also, the clubs great success will always come from the great mix of talented and hard working people that are involved in every capacity within its organization; be it the parents, volunteers, team managers, coaches, players and financial sponsors. In the end the club is one big family that network and socialize well with each other to achieve the common goal of junior development, youth accomplishments and senior achievements. ”
Speaking of participating in this years’ Great Wall Cup Tournament, Mr. Stajic expressed his understanding of his excitement and expectation.“For the club to be participating in an International youth football tournament of this caliber, can only reinvigorate the commitment that the Balcatta SC is displaying to the sport in WA and the Asian Football Confederation. Not only is it endorsing The Great Wall Cup in Beijing, China, it is signaling its support by sending two teams to represent the club and finally Football West the states peak football body. The Balcatta SC will be showcasing the clubs pool of talent to China, Asia and ultimately the world. "
